Are eBooks Worth Selling on My Blog in 2024?

I’ve got a blog focused on tech and I’m finally starting to get some traffic thanks to my SEO efforts. My goal is to generate some passive income from this blog so I can eventually think about quitting my day job.

I’ve noticed that successful blogs often have something to sell, but I don’t have any products yet. The quickest idea I came up with is to create an eBook related to my niche.

What do you all think? Is selling eBooks still a good move in 2024? Or should I put more time and effort into developing a course instead?

Yeah, eBooks are still selling like crazy! Amazon moves millions of them. They’re a solid first product since they’re super easy and quick to create.

But keep in mind, courses with the same info usually sell for way more because people see them as more valuable. The idea that no one buys courses anymore is totally wrong.

PDF isn’t the best format for an eBook; you should use EPUB instead.

Give away the eBook for free in exchange for their email address, then use those emails to sell them another book or eBook from Amazon. That way, you can make some good profit

Book on Amazon??? What d’ya mean could you please elaborate?

Create a free eBook as a lead magnet, then write a longer book and sell it on Amazon using Amazon KDP. After that, just send your email subscribers the link to buy it. Easy peasy G.

The only problem I see is that one person could buy the eBook and then share it with all their friends for free. Unless I’m missing something here…

An eBook is way easier and better than a course. People don’t want to commit the time it takes for a course. eBooks are simpler to market, take less time to create, and folks like to buy them because they think they can read them when they have free time.

Plus, eBooks are usually cheaper and easier to sell. You can market them to your subscribers, drop links in related posts, or even add a banner at the end of your posts. I’d pick an eBook over a course any day…
