Did the paywall on answerthepublic mess up SEO tools … What are your thoughts?

The title says it all.

Why do so many small things have to be paid for?

Who would buy such a great tool and do what he did?

I can’t forgive him for this.

It’s just autocomplete data. You can simply search and get the same information for free.

No, he didn’t. You can do great with SEO without using answerthepublic or Neil Patel.

Exactly. I have never used the tool and still succeeded with SEO.

Yes, I understand. There are many tools. I used answerthepublic once a month for very specific and rare niches, and now I can’t even do that.

@SHANE
Once a month for specific and rare niches, and that makes you post like this? Oh man…

Yes. answerthepublic was reliable when other tools like semrush and ahrefs weren’t working well.

But now I can’t even do that.

About writing the post, today was not a good day :grimacing:

A shiny head is the only thing we share.

Not bad. Men with shiny heads often appear in People’s Sexiest Man of the Year.

Maybe tomorrow will be better :slight_smile:

People don’t owe us free things. Also, it’s one of the most affordable SEO tools available, even with a lifetime option. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Alright, Neil Patel

Why not just pay for the tool? Why is it only useful if it’s free? It seems their plan is only $11 per month, which is affordable for any professional.

I don’t know about you, but I use many tools daily, not just for SEO but for other tasks too. If I had to pay $11 per month for each tool, what would I have left???

Almost every website or extension is asking for money in some way. That money adds up. Some tools I use once a month or once every three months, so $11 per month feels wasted.

@SHANE
The $11 is an investment. It’s up to you to get a return or find another option.

I will find another option. Thank you.

It didn’t ruin SEO, and I don’t think making it paid is a big deal. Data isn’t free, and it shouldn’t be.

But the pricing is too high.

Also, if you have a subscription to Semrush, it offers the same features.

@mila
Can you explain more about how Semrush does the same thing?
