Since Adsense changed to RPM earnings, I’m wondering if adding more ads on a page really increases your earnings. I usually use 6 ads on long content and 5 on shorter ones, but I’m thinking of reducing the number. My concern is that fewer ads might lead to lower earnings. Has anyone here tried reducing the number of ads? If so, how did it affect your earnings?
Don’t add too many ads on the page. It can hurt the user experience. Instead, block low-paying ad networks to boost your RPM. It’s better for both your traffic and your earnings.

How do I block low-paying ad networks?
@ContentCrafter
Go to your dashboard and look for “Brand Safety” → “Blockages” → “Ad Networks”. First, go to “Reports” and check which ad networks are paying low. You can block those to improve earnings.
@MonicaSaidIt
I found the ‘Ad Networks’ section in ‘Reports’, and sorted by ‘Impression RPM’. What do you consider low-paying? Should I block networks with below $1, $5, or $10?

I block any network paying $0 first and then check the results.
@MonicaSaidIt
I’ll try that. Thanks a lot!
Yes, but stuffing a page full of ads is a violation. Too many ads lower your CPM, while fewer ads with quality content improve CPM and ad quality.
Yes, of course, adding more ads does increase earnings.
Yes, but be careful. Putting too many ads on a page can lead to violations, especially if the number of ads is greater than the content. I’ve been hit twice with week-long violations, which cost me a lot. The policy says you can’t have more ads than content, and that can be tricky with pages of varying lengths. Even auto ads set to high can cause problems. If you get a violation, Google might put your account in restricted mode, which drastically cuts earnings until it’s reviewed. Once fixed, it takes about a week to get the penalty lifted. In my experience, fewer ads might not impact earnings much because the first ad at the top of the page gets the most clicks anyway.
So, should I add more ads or fewer? I’m confused.
Try not to add too many ads. At least 70% of a user’s screen should be content. Use whitespace effectively, and once you’re able to, switch to GAM and AdX.
Yes, more ads mean more earnings.
