How many blog posts should I write per week to improve my site's ranking?

I own a small business and I want to know how often I should post to improve my site’s ranking. Should I aim for 2-3 posts a week or is there a limit? For example, does posting once every workday make a big difference if I keep it up? I know quality and SEO are key, but I also want to know how this affects my site’s performance over time.

Quality is more important than quantity.

I have a theory about this: You need to post regularly until you establish more authority on the topic than the websites currently ranking in the top 3 results. That’s when you’ll start to notice better results. But I’m not sure about how often you should post.

SEO takes time, so you probably won’t see major results quickly. Even with high-quality posts, it can take months before you notice significant improvements. Google likes valuable content, so while posting more often might help, it’s not just about the quantity. If you can manage 2-3 posts a week, that’s a good target. Focus on keeping it consistent and on creating content that answers your audience’s questions. If you need extra help, you could reach out to an SEO agency to get a tailored plan.

Make sure your content is high quality. Google likes fresh content, but it doesn’t want spam. Create blog posts specific to your business or niche that your audience will enjoy reading. The longer they stay on your page, the better it is for your rankings.

How many can you write without sacrificing quality? Are your blogs offering more value than your competitors? Try posting one high-quality blog a week that draws people in and keeps them coming back. Consistency in both publishing and quality is key. Over time, you’ll build authority in your niche and gain a stronger presence in search results.

It’s great that you’re thinking about consistency. Creating a content plan can help you stay organised. And as soon as you publish a post, make sure to link to it from other pages on your site (internal linking).

It depends on the traffic your posts get. One post that gets good traffic is better than 100 that don’t.

Writing blog posts alone won’t do much if you don’t have a proper internal linking structure and a good content strategy. Blogs are not the only thing that matters anymore. You need a well-organised system of content that all links together. Internal links should also be complemented by backlinks. And anchor texts play a big role in how Google ranks your content.

I’d say aim for one post every 3 days.

It’s all about quality, but if you can maintain quality and consistency, that’s perfect. This will help build authority on your site for your products or services.

I totally agree with this. Focus on creating great content, and stay away from using AI. If you can post a lot without losing quality, that’s great. But don’t compromise on quality for quantity.

3-4 posts a week worked best for me.

At least 2 posts a week seems good to me.

I found that posting 2 blogs per day for about a month or a month and a half helped. After that, I slowed down to 2 posts a week, and it worked well.

Balancing quality and quantity is key. Go for as many posts as you can without sacrificing quality. There’s no perfect number. It depends on your team’s capacity and your goals.

2-3 posts a week is good, but the quality is more important. Make sure your posts are long enough to answer all the questions your audience might have. Check Google Search Console to make sure your posts are getting indexed. If they’re not, then you need to focus on improving the quality. If your posts are getting indexed and bringing in traffic, you can increase your posting frequency.

Google’s content guidelines suggest posting at least 5 new pieces of content or refreshing old ones every week for the best results. So adding 1-2 posts along with updating your pages to link to them might be the best strategy.
