I Don’t Rank Despite On-Page SEO and Unique Topics—What Should I Do?

Hey guyz,

I’m pretty familiar with SEO, but I’m stuck with a problem I can’t seem to figure out. I started a website last year using an expired blog with some good authority. Since then, I’ve been posting SEO-optimized articles, interlinking content, and linking to quality sites, just like all the advice you see around here.

I’m focusing on low-volume keywords and making sure to cover topics that haven’t been written about before. Even with all this effort, my posts initially rank on the 2nd or 3rd page but then drop off after a few days.

So far, I’ve only posted 14 articles, and I know that’s not a huge number, but I’m feeling demotivated because of the ranking drops. I get that high-competition keywords are tough, but why is this happening with my low-volume, unique-topic posts?

I’m also on shared hosting—could that be affecting my rankings? I’ve heard that issues with shared servers can impact performance and rankings.

I’m open to sharing my site with anyone who’s willing to take a look. Otherwise, any general advice would be appreciated. Should I try link-building? Shouldn’t it be easier to rank for a unique topic if it’s fully SEO-optimized?

Google is the gatekeeper, and no one really knows why they make the decisions they do.

Fourteen articles aint a lot, so consider stepping up your game by posting daily. The more content you put out, the better chance you have of getting noticed and improving your rankings. Daily posts can help you cover a wider range of topics, target different keywords, and keep your audience engaged. Plus, consistency is key in blogging, and posting regularly can show search engines that your site is active, which might help boost your visibility over time. Give it a shot and see how it impacts your traffic!

Take a look at your sitemap; sometimes, Google won’t update or crawl it when you’re using an expired domain for some reason.

Can you elaborate on that a bit more? I have a sitemap set up, and all my posts are included in it.
