Is 50,000 impressions in a month for a new website a good start?

I started my site about six weeks ago, and in the last month, it has received 50,000 search impressions. Does this mean I’m on the right track? What can I work on to make it better?

Impressions don’t pay the bills. Clicks matter, and sales are what really count.

Why focus on impressions? Ranking on page 200 can still get you loads of impressions but not much else.

Sounds like you’re focused more on SEO than actual marketing.

@Gordon
Think about this: a site with 100k impressions that gets 1,000 clicks and 200 sales is far better than one with 50k impressions, 10 clicks, and 2 sales. Impressions alone don’t tell the whole story.

@Gordon
Impressions don’t equal people looking at your site. If they liked it, they would have clicked. Google doesn’t charge for ad impressions because they know this too.

I’m just being realistic here. And if marketing is about creating products people care about, then yes, I am a marketer.

@Asher
Completely agree! I recently spoke with someone paying a lot for SEO services. Their agency keeps justifying impressions, but their sales haven’t improved. Turns out their search ranking is dropping, and they’ve ignored critical issues in Search Console. It’s frustrating how some companies exploit their clients’ lack of knowledge.

@NickParkerson
At least now they’ve got you to help turn things around!

@Gordon
You’re treating these as separate things when they’re deeply connected.

You clearly don’t know who you’re arguing with. This guy is legit.

Haha, sure thing.

Impressive numbers, but make sure you’re not cutting corners. If you’ve used backlink schemes or tactics Google doesn’t like, it could backfire big time. I’ve seen sites rise fast and then crash hard. Play it smart and focus on solid growth.

Good start, but what’s your click-through rate? High impressions mean visibility, but you need to focus on ranking higher and getting more clicks. Check your average position and improve from there.

Don’t get too hung up on impressions. They’re a leading indicator, not the end goal. Clicks and leads matter more for your growth.

Great progress for such a short time! 50k impressions show that Google is noticing your content. Keep posting quality work, and you’ll see even better results.

Traffic without conversions is pretty much useless.

That’s a lot of impressions for a new site. I’ve never hit numbers like that.

Depends on the competition, your niche, and how many pages are driving these impressions. Also, watch your click-through rate—it’s more important than impressions.

What’s your CTR? Are you getting any sales? Impressions alone don’t tell you much about your site’s performance.

This looks good so far, but clicks and ranking positions are what you should focus on. Be consistent, follow SEO best practices, and think long term.

For a new site, 50,000 impressions are an excellent start. It shows your site is ranking for several keywords. Now focus on analyzing clicks and overall performance.
