I always thought blogging was about sharing your thoughts and ideas with others, but it feels like people are just focused on making money from it. Can’t you just blog for feedback and enjoyment, without having to think about money all the time?
Blogging, like anything, can be whatever you want it to be. You can blog for money, or you can blog just because you enjoy it. Same goes for cooking, drawing or anything else. It’s all about what makes you happy.
I agree. I don’t blog for money either, I just enjoy writing and sharing my thoughts with others. Sure, making money from it is nice, but that doesn’t have to be the reason you do it.

I love your mindset

Thanks a lot
I was thinking the same thing when I commented here. It’s nice to find someone who feels the same!
Wait, people are making money from this?!
Blogging doesn’t have to be all about money. It’s true that many people try to make it into a business, but a lot of us just enjoy sharing our thoughts. It’s like an online journal. Some of the best blogs are the ones that don’t focus on money, but on being real and honest. Are you thinking about starting a blog or just curious?
In any job or hobby, making money is a goal for many people, but it doesn’t have to be the only goal. Blogging is a great way to build a community, and maybe later you can think about monetizing it. Focus on sharing what you know first.
You definitely can blog without worrying about money. But if you’re already writing, it doesn’t hurt to make some money while you’re at it!
Money isn’t my main goal, but I’ve added ads to my blog just to make a little extra. I write mostly to help people in my niche (parenting and fitness). The money is just a bonus.

Totally agree!
I’ve been blogging for 3 years and I don’t do it for money. I want to be known as someone who helps others. If you’re just doing it for the money, you’ll give up before you even see any results. But if one day I get the chance to monetize it, sure, I’ll take it. Still, my main focus is on helping others.
Blogging is what you make of it. You can blog to make money, but it can also be a way to express yourself, get feedback, or connect with others. It’s all about what you want from it.
For me, blogging is therapy. It helps me remember and heal. If I can help someone else along the way, that’s a plus.
If you just want to express yourself, there are cheaper options like Tumblr or LiveJournal where you don’t have to worry about paying for hosting.
For businesses, blogs are a way to build trust and attract customers. For hobbyists, it can be purely for the love of writing. It all depends on what you want out of it – passion or money.
Most people blog to share their thoughts and also make some money on the side. But you can totally just blog for fun, especially if you’re not concerned about earning from it.
I can’t imagine blogging for money. It would take the fun out of it for me.
