It’s still worthwhile, but your usage of it needs to adapt. Currently, obtaining traffic from Facebook requires more work. Facebook is full of garbage, so even if you share it to your own timeline, your friends won’t see it.
It is necessary for you to join communities that are relevant to your site and post content there. Change the notification settings as soon as you join the group to avoid having too many pointless alerts cluttering your timeline. It’s unpleasant.
Perhaps this is the point at which Google+ begins to attract users rather than spammers. (Try not to chuckle too much at that thought.)
Hey, Freeman, you might as well utilize it, as some people prefer Facebook. You may use Jetpack, Hootsuite, or IFTTT to automatically post your fresh material to all social media networks, with no effort.
For small sites, I don’t think Facebook is a waste of time. It’s just how you use it, in my opinion. I was able to advertise my little site once I joined a Facebook blogging network. Since they allow users to freely promote your stuff, I’ve received more views, comments, and likes. I get to talk to other bloggers and read their work, which is a lot of fun.
Could you please elaborate on the tools you use and the steps you take to publish on social media? It seems that you have a well-oiled system in place. I’d be thrilled to find out.
I appreciate the advise, Hacks. It’s encouraging to know that participating in pertinent Facebook groups can still help increase traffic. Without a doubt, I’ll change my notification preferences to keep everything under control. Indeed, I laughed at the Google+ comment!
