Is WordPress Good for Me? I Mostly Write About Fiction Stories and Poems

Hello everyone, I am a beginner and don’t know much about blogging. I mostly write fiction stories and poems. Can anyone guide me on which platform is best for me? I want to earn money through blogging. Please guide me in detail about what is best and how much it will cost. I can also write in trending niches, but my main focus is on fiction stories and poems.

Well, I use a platform called SimDif and it has the option to earn money through ads if you buy the pro version.

I never came across a story website. It’s almost always a YouTube video ranking at the top for this keyword.

Why don’t you give writing.so a try? It’s built specifically for writers and authors to give them an organized space!

Does it pay writers?

Actually, I am building writing.so. While it does not pay, you will soon be able to create memberships, so users will have to pay to read your premium content. You keep 90% of the revenue.

@JamesHenry
This platform looks quite cool, but we need to pay to use it, and it doesn’t make it possible to make money for writers too, so writers have to pay out of pocket. I think you should have a free plan so users can try it and upgrade when they feel the need for it.

@JamesHenry
I looked over your platform, but it is quite similar to Medium. I had a very bad experience with Medium in the past.

You threw too much poo at him/her.

I think WordPress will be great for you! It’s easy to learn and use. There are a lot of free plugins available which will help you in your journey! Best wishes :blush:.

Thanks!

Better off writing for an established site instead. A new site will take time to be indexed and to rank in searches.

Since you will need a constant stream of visitors, it is better to write for other sites while at the same time building your own blog little by little.

@YukiJane
Okay, that also sounds very impressive.

If you really want to earn money through blogging fiction, I don’t know if blogging is the right way to go about it. Stories probably won’t rank well since people don’t really search for them unless they have a specific book in mind.

You could try publishing your pieces elsewhere. On this site, AuthorsPublish, they send out magazines that are accepting stories. There are a few where you can get paid 0.08 cents per word. In a 5000-word story, that could make $400.

While it’s not a lot, it’ll probably be more viable than starting a blog. You could also publish on Amazon and then advertise your stuff from there.

All the best!

@WriteWandererWes
That’s also interesting; please tell me how I can start there.

@WriteWandererWes
I strongly agree, but if their stories are long, they could consider other story publishing platforms like Wattpad. If the story is good, they could enroll in their creator program, which provides many benefits.

I am not a writer but a web developer. WordPress will be good for what you’re thinking.

You can use WordPress and add ads, and you can also have the option to sell some of the exclusive materials.

Who knows, you can even have a ‘hire me’ section where people can hire you as a writer.
