Large IG account ripped by blog post without credit--so annoying

I’m not looking for advice here, just to vent. I’ve shared here on and off that I started a blog this year dedicated to a specific celebrity. I knew it would be popular, and it’s getting some traffic. But how it’s getting seen the most is by being ripped by large Instagram accounts for their content. It’s so brazen what these folks do, copying entire sections of my post in either comments or images and then not crediting.

It’s so frustrating pouring hours of research into posts and using literally a decade of knowledge and then someone just goes and passes off my research and writing word for word as their own. I know this is the risk we take when we create online, but it’s still annoying to see in action.

This niche I picked has been interesting. I’ve had people block me when I created my account and directly lift my blog posts word for word into their social media. I guess it must mean I’m doing something right, I just wish I had the traffic to show for it. I guess, if you build it, they will eventually come.

I ended up messaging the person being like, hey I noticed that you lifted my blog post word for word. I know I’m just a small account but in the future, I’d appreciate credit at least.

It is useless since they can obtain summaries with only a click thanks to artificial intelligence, so they don’t even need to read your blog or view videos. With just one click, turn those summaries into videos. Watermarks on photos or movies may be easily removed. Thus, it is uncontrollable.

To stop this, I included no copy & paste/right-click plugins. Someone else did what I did. So far, it seems to have stopped.

To protect your blog content from being copied on Instagram, ensure that your content is posted on Instagram before anyone else. If someone copies your content, report them for copyright infringement. This applies to both text and visual content. If Instagram moderators contact you, show proof of prior incidents of content theft from your blog. While copyright doesn’t protect facts or ideas, it does protect the original expression of them. You can display a copyright or a license like CC-BY-NC, depending on whether you allow sharing with credit.
