Low Traffic After 3 Months of Blogging—What Are Your Opinions?

I started my first blog back in June, focusing on sustainable self-improvement inspired by the Swedish concept of “Lagom” (which means “just the right amount”). My goal is to show that working towards your dreams can be a fulfilling journey without the intense pressures we often see on social media.

So far, I’ve written 25 posts, but I’m really struggling with traffic—only about 4 visitors a day, and just 6 people have signed up for my email list (mostly friends and Reddit connections).

I’m starting to worry that my content isn’t resonating with others. It feels important to me, but with such little engagement, I’m losing motivation.

Fellow bloggers, I’d really appreciate your advice or feedback. How did you handle the early stages when things felt slow? What keeps you motivated to push forward?

What is your blog? I can read some articles and give you feedback. It might just be related to content quality. Do not rely on Google SEO tricks.

Do you use a keyword research tool? According to Keysearch, the term “Lagom” gets around 50k searches each month, and there are probably a ton of long-tail terms related to it, so there’s definitely potential there. From what I saw, the top pages ranking for that term should be pretty easy to beat. Honestly, it almost makes me want to start a Lagom blog (just kidding, but not really).

If you’re not writing strategically for keywords (like focusing on SEO and organic traffic), you’ll need to find traffic through social media. Pinterest works for a lot of people and niches, or you’ll need a solid following on another platform. Personally, I think organic SEO should be pretty manageable for that niche. If you’re not using a keyword tool, that should be your first step. And if you’re not familiar with SEO best practices, that’s another thing to tackle. Good luck!

If you’re hoping for traffic from search engines like Google, keep in mind that it can take a while for them to index a new site.

When we started, we had 20 posts and didn’t see any traffic at all. We let it sit for about 2 years, and then one day, we got an email from Google Search saying that 3 of our posts were bringing in 1,500 views a month!

You really need to give Google time to recognize and start ranking your site. I’d recommend waiting at least a year from your first post and make sure you request to index your posts in Google Search Console.

It’s a long-term game if you want to attract organic traffic. And honestly, getting 4 views a day after 3 months is way better than our experience of only 1 view a week when we first started…

do you have all your links indexed on Google Search Console ?

Motivation and inspiration blogs just don’t cut it anymore. To make your blog work, you really need a strong video presence on platforms like YouTube or Instagram. My best advice? Consider stepping back from this blog, even though it sounds interesting and necessary for you.

Focus on creating videos and connecting with your target audience through social media. Try making more short videos and publishing them on your channel. Then, direct traffic from those videos back to your blog. That’s where you’ll see more engagement…

You still need to work hard about content and focus on some keywords which are related to your target audience. Best of luck
