Made a Free Tool for Keywords … What Do You Think?

I was tired of all these basic keyword searches being locked behind pricey subscriptions or complicated sign-ups. So, I made my own free tool using Google search data. Would love to get your thoughts on it! You can check it out at anotherkeywordtool.com

Getting a ‘Something is wrong’ error message, but other than that, looks solid.

Sorry about that! We’re getting a lot of traffic because of the product launch. Maybe try again now?

@Rowen
This tool looks great. Really nice job! Just curious, where’s the data coming from? I know some tools pull it straight from Google’s KW Planner.

Thanks! Yeah, the data is straight from Google, basically the same info you’d see in their Keyword Planner. Funny thing is, Google often just shows ranges (like <10k) in their own tool, so this is more detailed.

@Rowen
Keep going with this. It looks so much better than Mangools, which is like $50 a month.

@Rowen
Shared this on Facebook to get the word out.

Are you open to selling the code? The design looks nice and I like that you support all countries like KWFinder. The search results look pretty accurate, but one thing that bugs me is needing to click ‘new search’ every time to start over.

@DanBurn
Thanks! I won’t be putting more time into this in a few weeks, so yeah, I’m open to offers if the price is right.

Thanks for the feedback, too. How would you like the search flow to work ideally?

I noticed German is available as a search area, but I get an error when entering characters like ‘ß,’ which is common in German. Same issue with ‘ö,’ ‘ä,’ and ‘ü’.

Good to know! I’ll look into that.

@Rowen
Thanks! I run a blog on barefoot shoes and run into this issue all the time with those characters.

Really like the design of the interface, and it runs smoothly too.

If it’s just pulling from Google, why not just use Google? Also, what does ‘competition’ mean here? Is it about organic search? And if so, what’s that based on?

Google’s keyword research tool has a terrible user experience for SEO. It used to be better, but now they make it really difficult.

@DanBurn
Take it easy. I just wanted to know what makes this tool better. Does it add anything other than a cleaner look? Is it faster? Does it bring in more related keywords than Google’s Planner?

Using Google’s tool requires setting up an ad account, and I think the interface isn’t great, especially on mobile. I built this because I wanted a quick way to validate ideas and market interest while on the go. I actually have it as a shortcut on my phone.

About competition—it’s ad competition, not organic search. I’ll clarify that in the next update. This number is based on Google’s internal algorithms. Their UI just shows low/mid/high ranges, so the actual number feels a bit more useful.

@Rowen
Yeah, maybe just explain what competition means here or even leave it out unless you’re planning to market this for advertisers. Looks like a promising start, and I hope the launch went well.
