Hi everyone, I had an AdSense account approved for my blog and since I’m moving to a different country, I decided to close my old account and open a new one. But now, my new application got rejected without any specific reason. Here’s the message I received:
"Thank you for your interest. After reviewing your application, our specialists have found that it does not meet our program criteria. Therefore, we are unable to accept you into our program.
Our program policies are designed to ensure Google ads work well for both publishers and advertisers. We check all publishers and have the right to decline any application. If you make changes to meet our program criteria, you can reapply for AdSense or AdSense for YouTube in the future.
Please note that we might not be able to respond to questions about the specific reasons for our decision. Thank you for understanding."
This response is a bit confusing since it doesn’t highlight any specific issues. I did some research and found that this message sometimes goes to users with duplicate accounts. Could that be the case even if I’ve already closed the previous one? How can I resolve this? Thanks for your help.
Sadly, once you get that rejection, they have just chosen not to accept your application and they won’t give you more details. There’s not much you can do right now, but keep improving your blog and explore other ways to make money for now.
@martin
I get that since I’ve been turned down by AdSense before. Normally, the rejection comes with a general reason like low content quality, but this time, no reason was given, which made me think there could be other issues related to switching accounts that I need to address.

How did you close your account? Did you receive an email confirming it was closed?
I followed the official steps and received an email stating “Google AdSense: One of your payments accounts was canceled. A payments account was canceled”. When I tried logging in with my old account, it said “Your AdSense account is closed” and I had the option to reactivate it. This seems to confirm that my account is closed, right? Or are there other things I need to close? I’m unsure now haha.
P.S. The email said: Your payments account “AdSense pub-xxxx” for Google AdSense was recently canceled. If your balance is over $10.00, you’ll get your final payment from the canceled account during the next cycle. Payments less than $10.00 won’t be processed. Any other active payment accounts connected to Google AdSense won’t be affected.
The standards for AdSense have changed over time and your old account was approved based on the previous rules. I’d recommend checking the current standards on the AdSense site and starting a new blog with high-quality, long posts of at least 1000 words. Then wait about six weeks to apply. New blogs often get rejected. Don’t bother trying to talk to AdSense support; it’s mostly automated responses.
I had my request declined 9 times haha. But what I did was reapply immediately after getting rejected, and finally, they approved me. It took 11 months straight… sometimes they wouldn’t respond for over a month. Just keep trying and they will approve you, but make sure to meet the basic requirements like having enough pages.
I had my site approved before but then I changed my domain, and AdSense removed my approval. Now I requested approval again and I see that the ads.txt file is authorized, but my site’s approval is still under review. Do you think the authorized ads.txt file is a good sign that Google will approve my site?
