Should I move to substack from a custom blog?

For the past 2 years I have been working on a software development related blog (https://thedevelopercafe.com).

I developed this blog from scratch (no prebuilt CMS or platform). The main reason was to have control over all aspects and not be bound by limitations and rules of a single platform.

I have around 35-40 posts on it and now looking into some serious monetization.

I am thinking to move to Substack, mainly due to its per month subscription feature.

Has anyone here had any luck or experience writing on substack?

I think Substacks are a terrific place for more personal writing, but I think of them more as a kind of letter than as a useful website with readily navigable sections. I really enjoy blogs and the notion of writing in a more personal tone. That’s all I have to say.

I wouldn’t; after using one, I was kicked off of Substack. I was using it, they claimed, like a newsletter.

I would investigate Substack more. Many folks are moving on.

Execute both. Issue a blog post and distribute the Substack newsletter.

I haven’t used Substack yet, but wow, this is impressive!

Are you using affiliates and Google Ads together to monetise your site, or are you using another method?

Here, I discovered a typo.

This article describes how to use Golang with Redis (de18bf5924c1).

It is most likely that you will be connecting to Redis as part of a persistent application (like a web server). In this case, it is best to terminate the connection as soon as it is no longer required.
