Thoughts on Mediavine Banning Publishers for Over-Using AI?

Hi folks,

I’m curious to hear your thoughts on Mediavine’s decision to ban publishers who over-use AI in their content. It seems like a big move, and I’m wondering how it will affect creators.

One concern I have is that AI detectors can produce false positives, which might unfairly impact some publishers. Have any of you experienced issues with AI detection tools? What do you think about Mediavine’s policy? Do you believe it will help maintain quality, or do you think it’s too harsh?

They banned one person who was very obvious about using automatically generated content on many sites, making it hard to overlook him and his media interviews.

It will definitely discourage publishers and bloggers who are using AI to create content without care. It’s a good move for creators of original content.

It’s pretty obvious when a blog is completely AI generated. The people doing it aren’t as secret as they think.

You can create as much fake AI content as you want, but don’t expect Google to rank it or Mediavine to support you.

I think as long as you’re not mass producing shit ai content, and the content is still good, its ok to use a bit of chat-gpt to help you write.

My concern is how they decide which publishers are over-using AI. I think it’s better to be lenient with their rules, especially since there are many other monetization options out there, like Raptive and Hydro Online.

I think using AI is a great tool when used as a source of inspiration/help, but overrelying on it should not be allowed. At the end of the day, quality is important!
