I’ve built a more affordable alternative to Ahrefs, and I’m looking for some guidance. What features would make you consider moving away from Ahrefs? I’d love to hear from long-time users, especially those who also use their API.
For me, the most important thing in a tool like Ahrefs or Semrush is having data that is as accurate as possible. Anything else isn’t a big deal for me.

Got it. What do you think about filtering the data, like pre-filtering spammy backlinks? Do you think it would blur the overall picture or help you spot quality backlinks more easily?
@Charis
I haven’t seen anything that filters spammy backlinks well. Usually, I use these tools more for competitor traffic analysis, topic research, and so on.
@Charis
Honestly, I don’t care about post-filtering or even the UI. Just give me a CSV download and keep the accuracy at a quarter of the price, and I’m in.

Exactly, I just need the raw data. If I want analysis, I can use ChatGPT for that.

You might like it. Want to give it a try?
I use Ahrefs every day and love it, though the pricing is high. I need accurate data, a good user interface, and an easy way to export data. I’d be happy to check out your tool and share my thoughts.

That sounds great. I’ll DM you shortly.
@Charis
I can help give you feedback too.
What does your tool actually do? That will help me answer your question. I’m not sure you’ve built a full alternative to Ahrefs. I even doubt you have something that matches one of the tools Ahrefs offers, like keyword research or site explorer with competitive data for links and organic performance.
@DanielBlogs
Would you like to take a look and let me know your thoughts? I can send you a DM with a test account’s credentials.
I use SEMrush because I focus on driving organic traffic. I use tools like content gap analysis, on-page recommendations, and SEO topic tools to create briefs for writers. It’s not just about fixing things but improving traffic.
I’m seriously looking for an alternative since Ahrefs and Semrush have become so expensive. Ahrefs’ $29 plan is for beginners, but it lacks features. Their disavow tool doesn’t work well. I think Semrush is better. I’d also suggest adding a feature that reports broken images, which neither Semrush nor Ahrefs has.
