Why did AdSense reject my website?

I run a website that I want to monetize with AdSense. It has a bunch of leaderboard pages with info alongside names, which people in the niche find helpful. The site’s got around 200+ daily visits and it’s growing.

I’ve made sure it meets GDPR requirements, has a policy page, cookies notice, and is user-friendly and SEO optimized. There’s also some original articles up.

AdSense still says ‘thin content’ and won’t approve it. If I add more articles, will that solve it, or is my site just stuck as ‘thin content’ because of the leaderboards? Could traffic growth to 2000+ visits a day make a difference?

If AdSense is out, are there any good alternatives?

AdSense really wants original content that stands out. Their policy talks about content that brings value to users. Here are some links that might help you understand their stance better:

Your site may lack enough original content or unique value. AdSense looks for pages that make your site different from others. Think about what makes it special.

Have you created your own original content?

Make sure your site has something unique that’ll bring visitors back.

Google might see low-quality or shallow content. Here’s a guide on common issues:

Google does not approve sites with auto-generated or repeated content.

The key is to make pages that genuinely offer a unique perspective.

@Brown
Thanks for the in-depth info.

I get that my site might not look super original, especially to bots or algorithms. But for people in the niche, it’s interesting – like how tennis players follow ATP rankings or football fans want goal stats. Is there anything like retention time or bounce rate that Google considers to know if users find it valuable? And could more traffic (say 200, 2000, or 20,000 visits a day) change their perspective on content quality?

If AdSense doesn’t work out, there are some alternatives like Ezoic, Raptive, and Hydro Online.

Don’t bother with Hydro Online, it’s a scam.

Calling it a scam doesn’t make sense. They’ve got 15,000 publishers onboard – how would they manage that if it’s a scam?

Be cautious; you don’t want to get scammed. You can find a lot of information online. You could try Mediavine, Ezoic, or even Hydro Online.

@Jane
I tried those but couldn’t get approved.
