Why isn't Google crawling my updated pages?

@Chris
Yeah, I didn’t really pay much attention to that until today.

I guess we don’t need it all the time, but it can be important sometimes.

Exactly! Totally agree.

Crawling costs money. Keep creating great content until Google decides it’s worth checking your site more often. You should submit to Google every time you add a new page.

That’s a good point. I never thought of it that way.

I submitted a sitemap for a new site at the end of November, and only 14 out of 87 pages have been crawled so far. With all the content being created every day, it really takes time (longer than I thought as a non-SEO person).

@Mason
My site only indexed the homepage, and that’s it. It’s pretty bad.

I’m sure it will get indexed eventually.

@Mason
Yeah, it’s annoying, but that’s just how it goes.

I’m having the same problem. Old content doesn’t get crawled anymore, but new content gets crawled and indexed right away.

For important old content, I submit 2-3 URLs to paid indexing tools every week, and it seems to work well.

@Wizzy
That sounds like a good idea. I’ll try that out .
