Hello guys…
I’ve been running a blog called Unique Cafes (www.uniquecafes.co) for the past three years, focused on reviewing and showcasing local and unique coffee shops. I have written 38 blog posts so far, and most of my traffic comes from organic search. Despite this, I’ve only managed to get around 1,000 pageviews in total, and I’m really starting to wonder if I should continue.
My ultimate goal is to build a community of coffee shop lovers, attract more visitors, and eventually create some income from the blog.
I would quit. That sounds tiring. Why would I read about coffee shops? I can’t visit them, and I can’t see all of them. I only care about places near me.
Did you say build a community? You’ve only written 38 posts in 3 years! That’s about one post a month…
You need to write more quality articles and do it more often. If daily posts aren’t possible, aim for 2 or 3 good posts a week to get things moving. Write from your own experience — review coffee shops you’ve actually visited. There’s more to coffee shops than just their names. Focus on those little details and write your best articles, even if the topics seem simple. Try “Top 10” lists related to your niche.
From what I can tell, your niche isn’t very competitive, but it gets a lot of search traffic. You should be getting way more than 1K views per month. I sold one of my websites and started a new one in a competitive niche, and I’m already getting close to 3K views a month. Put in more effort, and you’ll see better results.
Blogging success relies on both quality content and effective marketing. How would you describe your blogging approach so far? Do you focus more on creating engaging, high-quality posts, or do you prioritize promoting your content to reach a wider audience? Or is it a balance of both?
Understanding your current strategy could help pinpoint where improvements are needed for better results.
I’ve given up blogging a long time ago. It seemed that I was working against the odds if you compare it with how it used to be before 10 years. There are rare cases when someone has had success.
