How do you get Google to index a new website fast?

I’ve been having trouble getting my site indexed by Google, so I looked into it, and there seem to be a few proven ways to speed up the process. Just curious if anyone here has tried some of these or has other tips that worked for them!

I started by creating an XML sitemap and submitting it through Google Search Console. It’s one of the fastest ways to help Google find all your pages. Have you tried that yet?

Yes, I just did that! I’m using All in One SEO to create the sitemap. Hoping this helps Google crawl everything a bit quicker.

@WordWeaver
Nice! That should definitely help. You can also use the Index Status tool if you’re with AIOSEO to monitor if there are any issues with your pages being indexed.

Make sure you’re not using any nofollow tags on internal links. I had some on my site by accident, and it stopped Google from crawling certain pages.

Good call. I missed that on a couple of my pages too. Removing nofollow tags helped a lot with crawling issues.

@Ryan
It’s an easy fix but can make a big difference if Google isn’t able to crawl those pages.

Another thing to check is the robots.txt file. If any important page URLs are blocked there, Google won’t index them. I had to remove a few blocks that were preventing some of my main pages from getting indexed.

@Faithjones
Good tip. I’ll double-check the robots.txt file just to be sure nothing important is blocked there. Thanks for the heads up.

No problem. It’s a quick check but definitely worth doing if indexing is an issue.

I’d recommend building some high-quality backlinks to your site if you haven’t already. Backlinks make your site more trustworthy, and Google tends to index sites with strong links faster.

Totally agree. Even a few solid backlinks from reputable sites can give Google the signal to pay attention to your content.

@StarrySentinel
Exactly. You can try guest blogging, infographics, or even finding broken links to build backlinks.

Internal linking is also a great strategy. Linking pages within your site helps Google crawl your content more efficiently, especially if you link to high-traffic pages.

Good idea! I have a few well-performing pages I could link from. I’ll go ahead and add some internal links to other posts that need indexing.

@WordWeaver
That should definitely help. You could use a tool like AIOSEO’s Link Assistant if you need suggestions for internal linking.

If you have duplicate content, it’s worth clearing that up too. Google doesn’t like indexing duplicate pages and might ignore them.

Yeah, I have a few similar posts. I’ll check to make sure there’s no duplicate content or maybe use a canonical tag where it’s needed.

@WordWeaver
Using canonical tags should help if you need to keep similar content on different pages.
