It seems like Google’s team, including their leader, is saying:
Let’s make more money,
Let’s get rid of small publishers and call them spammers!
Let’s take all the content and show users the content directly!

That seems to be the plan. But where will new Google content come from?
Ah, yes. This forum and others. Great plan!

Just a reminder when you check the current URL: the best way to see if an electrical outlet works is to stick your finger into it. 100% guaranteed, I tried myself.

Yeah, but Google indexed lots of useless forum entries, so it didn’t look so biased toward this forum.
@Vincent
And just remember, this forum has the upvote system and mods, so the best answers are always easy for AI to pick out.
The person who turned Google Search into Yahoo Answers. Well done ruining a trillion dollar product. Impressive. Hopefully the new person can turn the ship around and give creatives their value back.

He’s a McKinsey, so good luck with that. A bigger fool than Raghavan
I’ve noticed more and more of my customers are using Bing and DuckDuck. Both, of those I rank very well.

Same. For many industries, finding something has become nearly impossible with bad results and spammy sites.

I use Ecosia and DuckDuckGo. Ecosia feels like Google from 2010 but with less spammy results

I have been hearing SEOs say this for a decade now
These money-focused people have the same vision as an earthworm. They could have kept the best search engine in the world and developed a separate tool for AI, but instead decided to ruin their search engine, make a tool that’s not as good as ChatGPT, and make themselves hated by users and publishers.
@Vincent
There used to be a fair exchange. Google took our web pages and then provided a link to our site for more information. That has changed.
this guy did not think about others. He was too greedy I guess
I had to pull my ads from Google due to their intent-based search results and AI answers at the top. If people like the results from the AI response, they never scroll down or even see my ad yet Google charges me for it. Also, I get ad placements on searches that aren’t remotely relevant. It wasn’t like this until recently
I didn’t know that having zero ethics was such a valuable tool for people in business. I’m glad that I follow Google carefully to learn so much about the modern tech business. You really do learn a lot by just watching what these people do. So yeah, you gain people’s trust and then let them down. Wow, that’s ‘so smart…’
Why do companies have a boom and bust cycle? I have no idea…
Anyways, so people know that Search GPT and Perplexity are like 100x more useful than Google these days, right? I get that they’re not for everybody, but since you don’t even need to write code to create AI apps, I’m sure somebody is going to figure out something better soon.
Obviously, while the people at Google were finding new ways to make money, other companies in the space were just innovating and trying to solve real problems that people have…
Can you provide some real source where Google mentioned that our current boss and ex-search team members kill small publishers?

Same thing they did to YouTube.
