@EllaShaw
Your earlier post gave me the idea for this one, so thanks for that.

I wanted to try it again within this forum to see if more people would participate, even if it meant fewer platform details.

@ThreadTracker
Hopefully, this gets more votes than mine did! I had around 4k people view the post but only 25 votes.

I just realised you’re also the one who posted about ‘Free blogging platforms’ a few days ago. That was super helpful. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Wow, surprised so many people viewed but didn’t vote. Maybe they just didn’t trust an external link? This one has about 1.1k views and 96 votes so far. Something to keep in mind for future polls.

Posthaven is what I use. It’s simple and will stay online as a read-only archive even after you pass away. You can run up to 5 sites for $5 a month.

I use Astro.

I’m using Substack for now. It’s easier in many ways.

I use Wix, but I have mixed feelings about it.

What makes you feel mixed about it?

It’s great for beginners, but once you’re committed, you start to notice its limitations. By then, switching to something else feels like too much work.

They do have an App Market with decent integrations, but yeah, it’s limited and quite pricey too.

WordPress still seems like the best option for most people.

I’ve used WordPress for over a decade but recently started exploring Ghost. I used to run a newsletter linked to my site using Revue, but after Twitter bought it and later Elon Musk took over, it got shut down. Ghost’s ability to combine blogging and newsletters is appealing to me. Also, the way WordPress is being managed lately influenced my decision.

I use WordPress.org with SeedProd builder. It’s straightforward and quick to use.

I use Ghost for my blog called ‘So List.’

I recommend self-hosting. Free platforms come with too many limitations. I use Nixihost’s shared hosting plan for my clients. It’s affordable, consistent with no sudden price hikes, and offers features like free SSL and unlimited emails at no extra cost.

I use WordPress.org and combine it with page builders like SeedProd or Divi.

I use Blogger. It’s basic, but super easy for writing and adding pictures. Some missing features are annoying though.
