What’s a good milestone for a new blog?

Hi folks,
I’m looking for some guidance. I just started a blog recently and posted my first article on October 3rd. Now, I have 11 long articles (all 2000+ words), did keyword research, and I’m using Rank Math (scoring 89 on most posts, 90 on two). Google Console shows 53 impressions and 1 click, but the impressions are going down. Were they higher before because of bots crawling the site? Now with only 3 impressions yesterday, are these the real numbers? Is there a rough benchmark I should aim for in the coming weeks/months, or is there no clear standard? Just want to know if I’m on the right track. Any advice?

I’d say write at least 30 articles before worrying about analytics. I made the same mistake, but you can’t really draw any solid conclusions from such a new site.

Good luck with the blog!

Thanks for the advice! You’re right, I need to stop checking every day, haha. At least it’s already indexed, which feels like an achievement.

@Jason
Yeah, that’s definitely a win! Getting your posts indexed quickly is important, and uploading a site map helps a lot. I always check in Google Console about an hour after posting to make sure they’ve been crawled. The site map really speeds it up!

@Avery
Same here! Good to know I’m not the only one doing that, haha.

@Jason
Haha, nope, you’re not alone! I’m guilty of it too.

I was in a similar spot when I only had 15 articles. Then I heard MrBeast say that for YouTube, you shouldn’t focus on analytics until you have 100 uploads. I’m applying the same rule to my blog and won’t look at analytics until I hit 100 articles. I’m at 40 now and just trying to improve the quality of each post.

@Amelia
Just started blogging too. I definitely need to follow that advice!

@Amelia
Starting today, I’m joining the ‘don’t look at analytics’ challenge! :joy:

@Amelia
How’s it going for you now? How long have you been blogging and what’s the progress like?

Don’t worry about impressions at this stage. Focus on creating more content and make sure your blog is crawlable.

I have some strategies that can help you. Message me if interested.

It sounds like you’re not focusing on the right things. Blogging isn’t just about writing and expecting traffic. Search engines won’t just start showing your blog by default. You mentioned keyword research, but have you made a plan for the next 200 days? Don’t get caught up in the numbers, focus on the impact you’re making. Blogging is about helping others, not just repeating what’s already out there.

@Zachary
Actually, my blog is based on personal experiences that I hope can help others. I’m not just aggregating info, and I don’t use AI. It’s all original and personal.
