Why is my post flagged as AI content so much?

I wrote my first blog post and spent a lot of time on it. I used ChatGPT to get a basic outline and structure, but I wrote the content and titles myself. No matter how much I rewrite it, AI detectors keep flagging it as 45-65% AI-generated. I’ve tried rewriting the whole thing multiple times and tweaking different sections, but it doesn’t seem to help. Are free AI detectors even reliable? Should I even worry about this percentage? Am I wasting my time trying to fix it?

AI detectors are a joke. They even admit this sometimes, but not in an obvious way so they can avoid legal trouble. If you really want to pass these detectors, just make your writing messy with grammar errors and confusing sentences.

@Jayson
Yeah, I’m starting to feel the same way. I like using ChatGPT for grammar fixes and general edits because it’s free and works well. But I tried writing some random stuff and testing it in the detector, and it still flagged it as 85% AI. So frustrating.

Why does it even matter? A lot of people use AI now.

Honestly, based on what everyone’s saying, I might be overthinking it. But I’m new to blogging, and everything I read online says posts made with AI rank really low or get blocked by search engines like Google. I just want to make sure it’s not an issue. Still learning as I go.

@NormanKeith
Makes sense. Just focus on making sure your content is factual and useful. If you want, check out some of my unedited examples here: Sample 1.

This happens a lot. Which AI detector are you using? Some of them flag everything as AI. You could try using an AI humanizer tool like Rephrasy.ai. It might help if the score doesn’t change no matter what you do. Their SEO tools are great for blogging, too.

@Franky
Thanks for the tip! I’ll look into those. I really just want to use AI as a helper, not to fully write the posts, so it’s good to know there are other tools to try.

Sounds like your post is about 45-65% AI.

Sorry, that was unnecessarily snarky. I think using AI for the outline does bake some AI influence into the whole thing. It’s like the framework of your work, which might explain why it’s getting flagged.

I don’t think it matters. Just use AI if it helps you. The main thing is to make the content your own. If you know you’re putting in genuine effort, don’t stress about it too much.

AI content isn’t really a problem. Google doesn’t seem to care, and most sites are using AI anyway.

I doubt it’s a big deal. Whatever detector you’re using is probably unreliable. Google doesn’t seem to punish AI-generated content as long as it’s high quality. Just make sure your posts are worth reading and bring value to your audience.

Google doesn’t penalize AI itself. It penalizes bad, low-value content. I’ve been working on a custom AI writer that acts like a co-author, and I think the hybrid approach works really well. Focus on making something you’d actually want to read.
